These brownie bites are sweet and chocolatey, and even packed with protein! They are perfectly sized for individual treats.
If there are treats that taste good AND support your weight goals, would you like to try some? Whether you are trying to shed some pounds or bulk up, these brownie bites can be a part of your diet.
These little brownies are made with lots of chocolate chips and perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth. They are rich in chocolate flavor and have nice textures from chopped walnuts.
Why these brownie bites are better than the average brownie bites?
These brownie bites are about the same size as brownie bites at Costco (Sugar Bowl Bakery brand). But my version has much better nutritional value than the average ones:
My Brownie Bite (1 ea) | Sugar Bowl Brownie Bite (1 ea) | |
Calories | 91 kcal | 140 kcal |
Fat | 2g | 7g |
Sugar | 0g | 11g |
Protein | 10g | 1g |
My recipe makes brownie bites that are low-calorie and, most importantly, packed with 10g of protein each! That’s as much as some of the retail protein bars, and proteins are crucial nutrition to your body.
Why is protein important in your diet?
- Build and Repair
- Proteins are the main building blocks of your body, and they are needed to build and repair your body.[1]
- Weight Loss
- Proteins aid in weight loss. They are known to boost your metabolic rate and reduce appetite by keeping you feel full. [2]
- Muscle Gain / Maintain
- Muscles are largely made of protein. A higher protein intake can help build muscle and strength. A high protein intake can also prevent muscle loss when cutting calories.[3]
Most official nutritional organizations recommend 0.36 grams of protein per pound (0.8 grams per kg) of body weight (i.e. 56 grams per day for the average sedentary male and 46 grams per day for the average sedentary female), but if you are physically active or older, you need more protein per day.[4]
